For the first time in 136 years, conservatives will control both houses of the Alabama legislature and the governor's office. It's imperative that we not miss this historic opportunity. The vote was a victory, but the fight isn't over. In fact, it's just the beginning of what could be the most important years for us as Alabama citizens.

In his Letter from the Birmingham Jail, Dr. King stated that “the appalling silence of the good people” was equally as tragic as “the vitriolic words and actions of the bad people.” Alabama’s public education system cannot improve under the continued silence of those who understand its failures and do nothing to correct it.
